Boca Raton, FL–June 21, 2004 — Axerra Networks, “The Pseudo-Wire Company™,” a leading provider of IP aggregation, service interworking, and legacy multi-service delivery solutions over IP and MPLS networks, today announced the availability of the AXN10 Multiservice Access Device. The AXN10 is the newest addition to Axerra’s family of pseudo-wire solutions, the AXN Multiservice Packet Concentrators and Access Devices™. The AXN10 enables mobile/wireless operators, cable MSOs, and service providers with metro Ethernet or IP access networks to cost-effectively offer emerging Ethernet services plus traditional services such as T1/E1 private line, full-featured TDM voice, and frame relay to medium-sized business customers, over packet-switched networks. The AXN10 is a highly flexible, cost-effective, purpose-built multiservice access device that is available with 4 T1/ E1 ports as well as a 10/100 BaseT LAN Ethernet interface and a 100 BaseTx/Fx network uplink Ethernet interface. The AXN10 enables Ethernet capabilities such as Transparent LAN Service and Virtual Private LAN Service (VPLS), plus T1/E1 Circuit Emulation Service over Packet (CESoP) for leased line replacement and dynamic bandwidth CES (DB-CESoP) for bandwidth-efficient backhaul of voice services, as well as Frame Relay over Packet (FRoP) and HDLC over Packet (HDLCoP) for service delivery and interworking applications. The AXN10 also features the industry’s most robust and accurate clock recovery mechanism, required in mobile/wireless networks for T1/E1 backhaul over IP/Ethernet from 2G BTS and 3G Node B sites. “By deploying the AXN10 at cell sites in mobile/wireless
Radio Access Networks, cellular operators can efficiently aggregate and
transport consolidated voice and data traffic over metro Ethernet, DOCSIS
HFC, and broadband radio, substantially reducing backhaul costs,” says
Alik Shimelmitz, VP of R&D at Axerra Networks. “The AXN10 is optimally
sized for the interface requirements of cellular base stations and will
help accelerate deployment of 3G services, which generally require greater
bandwidth for voice and data backhaul.” Axerra Networks, “The Pseudo-Wire Company™,” is the leading provider of IP aggregation, service interworking, and legacy multi-service delivery solutions over IP and MPLS networks. Established in November 2000 with headquarters in Boca Raton, Florida, Axerra’s pseudo-wire solutions enable incumbent carriers, competitive service providers, mobile/wireless operators, and cable MSOs to extend IP + legacy voice & data services over IP and MPLS networks. With pseudo-wire solutions from Axerra Networks, service providers can increase flexibility and reduce costs by converting any access network (legacy TDM, metro Ethernet, DOCSIS HFC, fixed wireless, etc. ) into a pseudo-wire on-ramp to IP or MPLS networks.
