BOCA RATON, FL – February 14, 2005 — Axerra Networks, the
leading provider of pseudo-wire circuit emulation and service emulation
solutions over packet access networks, today announced an Original Equipment
Manufacturer (OEM) agreement with Ericsson, the world’s leading supplier
of mobile networks. This agreement will allow Ericsson full rights to distribute
and support Axerra’s award-winning family of AXN Pseudo-Wire Gateways
and Access Devices™. “This agreement gives carriers access to Ericsson’s broad range of cutting-edge, world-recognized products for GSM, EDGE, and WCDMA networks as well as their world-leading experience in deploying mobile networks throughout the world, while enabling them to benefit from our pseudo-wire technology,” says Denis Bambury, VP Sales-EMEA for Axerra Networks. “With the rigorous testing and the customer demand that it represents, this partnership validates our vision for employing pseudo-wires in mobile networks and can be an important catalyst for migration to higher-speed radio access networks.” Axerra Networks’ AXN solutions furnish a full range of service interfaces, including TDM, Ethernet, Frame Relay, and ATM, enabling mobile operators to simultaneously support GSM/EDGE/WCDMA services from a single, unified packet RAN. AXN solutions for both the BTS/NodeB and the BSC/RNC are easily integrated with the existing Ericsson infrastructure, protecting operators’ existing investments while smoothing the migration to new services. Critical for this solution is Axerra’s unique ability to meet the stringent synchronization requirements for the BTS/NodeB. Axerra’s state-of-the-art high-precision clock recovery (HPCR) mechanism has already been tested by major operators in Europe. An early innovator of pseudo-wire technology and a leading technical contributor to standards organizations, Axerra Networks introduced the concept of pseudo-wires for mobile networks using multiservice over packet terminology, coining the terms Multiservice over IP (MSoIP™), Circuit Emulation Service over IP (CESoIP™), Frame Relay over IP (FRoIP™), and ATM over IP (ATMoIP™). Axerra continues to extend the frontier of pseudo-wire applications into cable MSO, metro Ethernet networks, and especially mobile/wireless networks. Axerra personnel will be available for meetings during GSM World Congress 2005 at the IMA Brokerage Event on February 15 – 16. Meetings will be held at the Croissette meeting room of the Majestic Hotel in Cannes, France. Meetings with Axerra’s VP Sales – EMEA, Denis Bambury, can be scheduled by calling +44 (0) 7775 920 935 or by emailing: EMEA@axerra.com. About Axerra Networks
