Boston, MA –
June 14, 2007 – Axerra Networks, “The Pseudo-Wire Company®”
and leading provider of circuit emulation and service emulation solutions,
announced today that it is the recipient of a NXTcomm Eos Award. These
inaugural “Excellence in Achievement” awards honor the best
new technology or enterprise solution in 12 categories. Axerra’s
AXN10-8NR Pseudo-Wire Access Device™ was the runner-up in the category
of Technology Innovation: Access Networking.
The AXN10-8NR Pseudo-Wire Access Device is targeted to mobile wireless
operators, Ethernet service providers, cable MSOs, and incumbent LECs,
enabling them to utilize the capacity and flexibility of low-cost packet
access networks, including Carrier Ethernet, cable HFC, xDSL, PON, WiMAX,
etc. as a full-service backhaul alternative to TDM access.
A judging panel of 16 consultants, technical journalists and service providers
from the communications industry selected the Eos Award winners and runners-up,
who will be recognized during a special reception at NXTcomm on Wednesday,
June 20, 2007 in Chicago, IL.
"Our exhibitors truly raised the bar this year, resulting in fierce
competition," said Wayne Crawford, NXTcomm Executive Director. "Awards
were given in 12 far-reaching categories, demonstrating NXTcomm's enormous
reach. In addition to traditional categories like backbone, core and edge
technologies, Eos awards were also presented for achievement in home networking,
IPTV, advanced mobile services, and strategic support. Each Eos winner
deserves significant praise for its leadership, innovation, and role in
driving our industry forward."
“We are thrilled to be selected for this Eos award,” said
Gil Biran, Founder, President, and Chief Strategy Officer of Axerra Networks.
“Our Pseudo-Wire technology is enabling a new era in mobile wireless
backhaul and service delivery, bringing significant benefits to virtually
every kind of service provider. To have our AXN10-8NR access device recognized
by a distinguished panel of judges and honored at a major event such as
NXTcomm is very exciting.”
The Eos Award is the second award Axerra Networks has received this year
for its Pseudo-Wire solutions. In February 2007, and for the second year
in a row, Axerra Networks was a “commended” finalist in the
GSM Association Global Mobile Awards.
The AXN10-8NR Pseudo-Wire Access Device and Axerra’s complete range
of award-winning solutions for mobile wireless backhaul and service delivery
will be showcased at NXTcomm June 18 – 21 at McCormick Place in
