| Boca Raton, FL
– March 31, 2008 – Axerra Networks, “The Pseudo-Wire
Company®” and the leading provider of circuit emulation and
service emulation solutions for mobile backhaul, will be participating
in the “Next Gen Backhaul: 3G, 4G and Beyond” Conference taking
place on Wednesday, April 2, 2008 at CTIA Wireless 2008 in Las Vegas,
Nevada.
This one-day conference explores the latest technologies, products, business
cases, strategies, and early mobile operator experiences with next gen
backhaul solutions as well as long-term operator strategies for mobile
backhaul. Haim Volinsky, Axerra’s VP Marketing, will be speaking
on the topic of “All-IP Mobile Backhaul Business Cases and Timeframes”
at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 2, 2008.
The IP RAN era has begun as the first early base stations and NodeBs
with Ethernet/IP interfaces are being deployed, with Ethernet for backhaul
– but there are 3 million mobile backhaul connections that are not
IP yet. The “All-IP Mobile Backhaul Business Cases and Timeframes”
session, moderated by Michael Howard, Principal Analyst and Co-Founder
of Infonetics Research, will discuss the deployment scenarios that give
the greatest payback and operational efficiencies as mobile operators
and transport providers move closer to All-IP backhaul.
“Axerra Networks has extensive experience in enabling mobile operators
around the world to backhaul all generations of voice and data services
while they move towards an All-IP network,” said Haim Volinsky,
Axerra’s VP Marketing. “I’m pleased to participate in
this session and share the knowledge gained from our involvement in all
stages of the decision-making process, including lab trials, field trials
and successful deployments.”
Axerra’s scalable AXN Pseudo-Wire solutions, deployed in cell sites
and central offices, enable a new era in RAN backhaul that supports the
transport of voice and high-speed data over packet access networks. The
AXN Pseudo-Wire solutions simultaneously enable operators to significantly
reduce recurring costs while catalyzing the deployment of Carrier Ethernet,
GPON/EPON, xDSL, HFC, and WiMAX in the RAN. Axerra’s solutions enable
the support of all generations of wireless networks, including GSM, GPRS,
EDGE, UMTS (with full Iub packetization), and HSxPA, preserve native signaling
and features across packet networks, enable bandwidth sharing, and provide
the high-precision clock recovery capabilities that are required for reliable
mobile services. AXN Pseudo-Wire Gateways and Access Devices™ support
circuit emulation and service emulation, including Frame Relay/HDLC, Ethernet,
and even ATM services for 2G, 2.5G, 3G, and beyond voice and data aggregation
from a single box. AXN Pseudo-Wire platforms control latency, jitter,
and packet loss – critical capabilities for reliable mobile applications.
Recently, Axerra Networks and its backhaul solutions have received several
prestigious industry awards. In June 2007, Axerra Networks was named the
recipient of a NXTcomm Eos Award as a runner-up in the category of Technology
Innovative: Access Networking. In February 2007, and for the second year
in a row, Axerra was a “commended” finalist in the GSM Association
Global Mobile Awards for “best radio access product or service.”
Axerra will be showcasing its award-winning solutions at Booth #3451
at CTIA Wireless 2008 in Las Vegas, NV from April 1 – 3, 2008.
About Axerra Networks, Inc.
Axerra Networks is the leading provider of circuit emulation and service
emulation solutions over packet access networks. Axerra’s Pseudo-Wire
solutions enable incumbent carriers, competitive service providers, mobile
wireless operators, and cable MSOs to extend IP and legacy voice and data
services in native format over Ethernet, IP, and MPLS networks. The result
is greater operational efficiency, new revenue opportunities, and a smooth
migration strategy to a single converged network, without losing any revenue
streams from profitable legacy services. With Axerra’s Pseudo-Wire
solutions, service providers can convert any packet access network (Carrier
Ethernet, broadband wireless including WiMAX, cable HFC, xDSL, xPON, etc.)
into a full-service alternative to TDM access. For more information, please
